Personalized Education Program (PEP)
The Personalized Education Program (PEP) is available to Florida students who are not enrolled as full-time private or public school students. Through the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program, eligible students can access an educational savings account (ESA) to meet their educational needs. The scholarships are open to K-12 Florida residents, irrespective of household income, who are not enrolled in full-time private or public school. To enroll, students must be at least 5 years old by September 1st of the desired school year. It is worth noting that students who have a sibling receiving a different scholarship from Step Up For Students may qualify for PEP, but they cannot receive multiple scholarships simultaneously. The PEP offers an opportunity for eligible students to access educational funding and receive a personalized educational experience.
The Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA)
Customize your child's education to cater to their unique abilities with the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities (FES-UA). This scholarship provides an education savings account (ESA) that you can allocate towards a range of programs and approved providers, such as schools, therapists, specialists, curriculum, technology, and even a college savings account. Available for students aged 3 through grade 12 or age 22, whichever comes first, who have a specific diagnosis, the FES-UA scholarship offers an average award of $10,000. This award can be utilized for tuition and fees at private schools, homeschooling options, therapies, tutoring, and more. We believe that children with unique abilities deserve the opportunity to thrive in an environment that best supports their success. The FES-UA scholarship empowers families to personalize their child's education, providing them with the resources needed to unlock their full potential.
New Worlds Reading Scholarship
The New Worlds Reading Scholarship is for struggling K-5th grade students. This $500 education savings account (ESA) provides financial assistance to support reading improvement. Funds can be used for part-time tutoring, summer and after-school literacy programs, instructional materials, curriculum, and more. Eligibility is based on the student's prior year's performance on the English Language Arts (ELA) test. We recognize the significance of strong reading skills and offer the New Worlds Reading Scholarship Accounts to empower students on their literacy journey.
